Do It While You CAN!

Do what you can Thurs., 9-30

I miss my walks as I recover from last week’s ingrown toenail removal. I used to grumble about walking for exercise. Then my mindset changed, and I began to enjoy it as “me time” while fellowshipping with God and taking in His magnificent creation. Check out today’s podcast as I share my shift from “Ugh, I’ve gotta…” to “Wow, I get the opportunity to…”

Drop me a comment if it speaks to you! Blessings, Kayren

“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.”

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”

(I Corinthians 15:33)

“29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

(Ephesians 4:29-32)

My Big Pink Toe

Y’all know about me and math <side eye>…but I have a new equation:

Insult + Injury = Grace & Mercy

Check out my latest podcast episode to learn how slight calamity brought me to the mathematical conclusion that insult added to injury can lead us to obtaining God’s grace and mercy. Enjoy a few laughs at my expense and drop me a comment! Blessings, Kayren

“14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

(Hebrews 4:14-16)

“3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

(Isaiah 53:3-5)

A Permit to Drive Me…

Permit to Drive 9-27

…to walk worthy AND pray without ceasing cuz my “baby” is now driving…#JesusPleaseTakeTheWheel!

I didn’t realize I’d get tested on yesterday’s “season created by prayer” reminder so soon…my daughter drove me home from church for the first time since she got her learner’s permit last week. I didn’t have white knuckles the entire time, but I wasn’t exactly excited about the prospect of her driving me on the highway, either. I worked hard to cast down imaginations of “Toonces the Driving Cat” SNL skits. Parents of teenage drivers, holla if ya hear me!

Nevertheless, we train our children for the purpose of growth and maturity. We don’t want them to stay in the same stage of development without forward progress, so why are we surprised when these types of “milestone moments” occur? She has to log 60 hours of practice with a licensed driver over the next few months before receiving her license to drive solo. (Why my wonderful hubby volunteered me to accompany her first reminded me of how he was conspicuously busy every time there was a loose tooth to be pulled…IJS, but I’m gonna let that go – again!). So this was the first of MANY opportunities for her to practice smoothing out her lane changes and not riding the white line. Truth be told, she did a very good job. And I think I did, too.

The experience of being the passenger of a fresh student driver took me to another level of trust – in the Lord, in my child, and in what I’ve taught her. I certainly hope she emulates more of the POSITIVE driving habits she’s seen me display. Let us receive this important reminder to walk worthy because we are leaving footprints that others will follow. And let’s make sure we present (with prayerfulness!) a consistent, godly example worth following.

“9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;”

(Colossians 1:9-11)

A Season Created by Prayer

He hears us! I am thankful for a reminder every now & then – how about you? God is really listening for the prayers of His children in this season. #MakeTimeToPray #Grace #Comfort #Peace #Joy #Love #Direction

For A Cause

For a Cause Sat. 9-25

When we face opposition, do we REALLY believe that God has already given us the victory, or are we just going through the motions half-heartedly? #MotivesCheck

p.s. Verse 31 for a good reminder that God allows the right people to hear our words so we can be properly positioned to prevail. There are SO many nuggets of encouragement for endurance in the story of David and Goliath…do yourself a favor and read the entire chapter of I Samuel 17 – there’s nothing like revisiting a Vacation Bible School story for #PerspectiveMaintenance as an adult! Commit to dig into God’s Word and allow Him to speak to your heart today! Blessings, Kayren 🙂

“And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?

The Gift of Expertise

Sharing Expertise Fri. 9-24

What are you great at? How can you share your strength and expertise in that area with someone today?

Adulting & Responsibility

Adulting & responsibility Wed. 9-22

It’s just too heavy to carry a grudge…let it go and free YOURSELF! I can’t change the past and I can’t fix anyone else, but I’m responsible for managing MY part…I can proactively CHOOSE to forgive and move forward BY GOD’S GRACE.

“36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

(Matthew 22:36-40)
