😑ALMOST as funny as my face when I saw the sign declaring, “Freshly made hand-breaded chicken tenders”…at a GAS station?!😵💫 I don’t think so!🧐🫣🤐 #100DaysUNcurated#ShowUpImperfect#WritingWithGod✒️
If you haven’t checked out my Substack yet, what are you waiting for? I’m having a BLAST writing on the platform and making new connections!✨️
🤔Have you been oh-so-intently watching others do what God has called YOU to do in this season? Asking for a friend…👀
Nothing wrong with watching and imitating…Paul exhorts us in I Corinthians 11:1, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
But watching without intent to take your own obedient action is just…wrong.
Why? Because delayed obedience = disobedience.
Let’s sit with that for a minute. Or two…
I was convicted. 🤯 I repented. 🙏🏽 I’m starting now. 😇
👉 Join me LIVE on YouTube in The Convo Lab for “Let’s Talk About Spiritual Voyeurism” at 6pm ET tonight (Thursday, 9/11/25) and pursue taking the next right step according to God’s Word.
“Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
(Philippians 4:9, KJV)
“Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.”
Ohmigracious…”dignities” in this scripture is all about WORSHIP!😯🔥”Speaking evil” indicates lightly esteeming and not giving proper respect due…in essence, disrespecting authority and glory of the One Who is to be magnified above all.
When we deny God His rightful due praise, honor, and glory (because of disobedience, for example), we are essentially enthroning OUR will. This encompasses our desire to be seen and our need to be affirmed/appreciated/validated.
Ouch.
Have we been walking after the flesh? May we humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand (I Peter 5:6).
Blessings as I sit with this from a repentant heart, Kayren
“9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.”
(II Peter 2:9-10, KJV)
“9 then [in light of the fact that all this is true, be sure that] the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 10 and especially [d]those who indulge in the corrupt passions of the sin nature, and despise authority.
Presumptuous and reckless, self-willed and arrogant [creatures, despising the majesty of the Lord], they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties,”
Have you become unrecognizable as a new creature in Christ?🦋
You know how the smartphone lockscreen has the facial recognition feature?
Well, mine recently said, “Face doesn’t match” – like who else is gonna be logging into my phone but me? 👀😬😘😵💫 (don’t get me started on hackers…#Rude&Inconsiderate😡)
But it reminded me how we’re new creatures in Christ – old things are passed away.
So maybe that face shouldn’t match anymore after all…#NewIdentity
Blessings as we learn who we REALLY are in Christ, Kayren
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (II Corinthians 5:17)
The harvest cycle takes time…so be patient in the process.
Someone I met while riding public transportation in 2009 reached out to me this week through my website – it was an unexpectedly delightful surprise. She said that she still had an autographed copy (of my first published book) and that she thought of me from time to time, even as she had moved from my local area in 2014 and was now retired.
Getting this “blast from the past” email from a sister in Christ (whom I met during a particularly challenging season of my life) truly brightened my day, reminding me that we never know the impact we’ll have on someone – just by being ourselves and allowing the light of Christ to shine through us.
God is the One Who causes a seed planted to grow – in HIS time, and in due season.
Are we being diligent to plant and water so HE can give the increase as He sees fit?
Blessings to my fellow seed planters, Kayren 🌱
“6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” (I Corinthians 3:6-9)
We can’t afford to drive an entire trip while looking in the rear-view mirror. At what point do we choose to focus on what’s ahead? (hint: NOW is a good time!)
In terms of obedience:
My “yes” to God is still required today – even if (& especially when) I said “yes” yesterday.
When I rest on yesterday’s yes, I am deliberately choosing to stunt my own growth.
Why?
Because before I know it, I’m facing compromise, complacency, or comfort – and all of these can slow the progress of growth and maturity.
Today’s yes unlocks my next blessing – because it lays a part of the foundation I’ll need in place if I’m building something that lasts, stands the test of time, and holds up in the midst of a storm.
Blessings as we choose to continue building wisely, Kayren
“24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.”
TV, movies, and modern-day entertainment have really messed us up. Most of the time, we really expect magic to happen more than we expect the providence of God to show up on display.
Or is it just me?
But the more I mature, the more I realize that God is invested in PROCESS and not just the outcome – whether it’s deliverance, healing, growth, or learning. Kinda like acing the test doesn’t matter as much as understanding the material and being able to apply it effectively.
It is exam time, eh?
When we release the idea of trying to hold on to the current state (whether it’s comfort, familiarity, mediocrity, or a combination), we make space for God to bring us to the next RIGHT opportunity. Selah.
Blessings, Kayren
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
We can all relate to messy tech issues at the most inopportune moments…
The Administrator has taken over! He started clicking into screens I’d never seen.
Probably because I didn’t have the proper level of access…Selah.
Sometimes it can be a bit disconcerting when someone takes control of your computer to fix what’s broken. But there’s also a sense of relief that an expert has got your issues covered, and whatever you called the Help Desk for is gonna be fixed.
God is better than ANY man-made Help Desk!
Plus, He knows the operating system inside and out.
Aren’t you grateful? #Faithful&True #Trustworthy #Dependable
Blessings, Kayren
“And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”
(Psalm 9:10)
“5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.”
Not to be spooky or try to sound deep (cuz ain’t NOBODY got time for that foolishness!), but that was something I believe I heard God speaking to my heart this week, “Close your eyes and follow My voice.”
It’s about walking by faith and not by sight.
Not leaning to my own understanding. Not relying on my own strength – which is guaranteed to run out (and often at a very inopportune moment).
Trusting Him with EVERYTHING – big or small (cuz who am I to categorize or judge this from my limited perspective and vantage point?).
Acknowledging that He sees and knows ALL as King of the Universe – and HIS plan supersedes mine.
So now that we’ve got THAT outta the way…are your rose-colored lenses a li’l less foggy? Mine are! #PerspectiveMaintenance
“27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
