Do You WANT to be Made Whole?

I had a supreme moment of clarity today and thought I’d share my “light bulb ah-ha moment.” Perhaps it was long-awaited because the answer was staring me in the face for a while, but I just didn’t recognize it.

It could’ve been sleep deprivation talking way too loudly, but I had to wonder if I’M the reason I continue to get dragged in this toxic corporate environment.

It was 2:30am (I didn’t go to bed until 5:30am – yeah, that’s a problem on sooo many levels…physical health, spiritual health, emotional health) and my husband asked me what I was doing to move the needle on my current role so I didn’t have to continue working these ridiculous hours just to keep up.

When I told him that I hadn’t yet incorporated the resume feedback a more seasoned colleague had given me last week (though my colleague gave me 2 weeks to circle back, a week flies by when you’re in survival mode), he looked at me incredulously. Basically, I concluded from his look that I was doing the equivalent of casually watering the flowers in the midst of an emergency that required my immediate attention.

My takeaway? Timing and sequence are important. Significant. Critical.

So I need to make MYSELF a priority and get that resume updated. Because clearly, what I’m doing on this miserably predictable treadmill ain’t workin’. #RealTalk #Reframe

My previous blog post referenced the Biblical story of the man with the withered hand. This morning, I realized that if I continue to stay in my current position, my demise could mirror that of the man who was “stuck in his same situation” in John 5. The entire passage is worth reading.

Wilt thou be made whole?

A simple inquiry from Jesus to someone who clearly needed a change of environment, situation, circumstance. An extension of hope from the same Jesus who could make it happen once the man made a DECISION to become a willing participant in the process.

So I have a question for you…

Do YOU want to be made whole?

Good news: The same Jesus Who touched that man is still in the healing business – and He is available and accessible to YOU and me!

“3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.”
