I said “no” – and it felt good! More of this, please…
The world didn’t end when I pushed back on someone’s last-minute request at work. After all, they’d already acknowledged that I’d gone “above and beyond” (their words, not mine – but altogether true) for this project. One itty bitty cosmetic iteration at this point wasn’t gonna make or break the project – but it would’ve taken me over the edge on my already tight timeline with other projects in my queue.
So I chose ME! and my sanity instead of cray-cray…yay!
I guess I really am becoming a recovering people-pleaser. To God be the glory!
Cuz people-pleasing takes a whole lotta energy for not much of a return.
The empty pat on the back, the fleeting applause…and then you crave that “something more.”
I’m done with that.
Join me…
Blessings, Kayren
