We’re talking about FASTING during the Thanksgiving season?! π³π― Seriously, y’all KNOW that must be led by the LORD and not by me!π€£πππΌππ½ LOLπ
I’m sharing reminders from Isaiah 58 to strengthen us as we prepare for holiday family interactions…I hope you’ll check out this new podcast (Episode 13) – in less than 10 minutes, you’ll have some ammo to help you fight for your peace!ππΌπ
βAnd they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.β
I enjoyed a restful weekend with my family and I look forward to what God has in store for the upcoming week. I’m already starting Thanksgiving in my heart…there is SO MUCH to be grateful for!ππ½π
What are YOU anticipating this week? Drop me a comment and share! Blessings, Kayrenπ
My shadow while taking a pic of Mama – pretty cool, eh?
Q: Do you know the only thing funnier than me being a TechnoDinoπ¦ (my teenagers have iPhones, but I don’t)?
A: It’s me providing tech support for my parents when I visited them – and actually fixing their issues!π€£ LOL
My parents and I are Android users. Their new cell phones are nicer than mine – not jealous, I just know that (at least) 70% of the features will never be touched.π― Seriously, the only reason Mama’s barely used flip phone got replaced was because it was misplaced…go figure (bless her heart)! This is the lady who referred to sending me an email (a decade ago) by saying, “I’m gonna type to you today if I get time, Kayren!”π³ Anyhoo…
Not only did I teach my Mama (#CutieAt74) to send her first text, but I also showed her how to download a photo to her Gallery (AND add it to a Contact – new or existing) and set an alarm for important reminders (like upcoming appointments). We set up a Gmail account so she can subscribe to my YouTube channel, and she took her first cell phone photo!π₯³
She even did a video call with me – that was especially funny! She’s still getting used to swiping and touching the screen, but with a bit more use, I have full confidence that she’ll reach proficiency in no time.π€ππ
This is a lady who has a lifetime legacy of teaching – a former middle school (translation: combat zone) Teacher of the Year…my Mama is a real life, ol’ school, bona fide educator. She just has to overcome some tech phobias (like many of us at one point or another). But she finally faced some of her techno-apprehensions, and I’m really proud of her for it.π
Sure, it took a bit of extra patience for this Life Transition Coach to hand-hold my Mama while demonstrating some new technology. However, in comparison to the innumerable times in my 4.5 decades that she’s extended an abundance of grace and patience to me, I’ve gotta say it was more than #WorthItAll. ππ»π€
“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”
Clouds aren’t bad…many of them have silver lining!π #PerspectiveMaintenance
In many ways, a cloudy day can be just as beautiful as a sunny day…allow God to adjust your focus today. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you SEE…
“Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.”
(Psalm 36:5)
“For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.”
Shoutin’ out my fellow recovering perfectionists with this friendly reminder: Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that make all the difference.
Can anyone relate? Drop me a comment if you’re taking intentional steps to simplify your life these days! #LiveWithIntention
Sharing photos from yesterday’s walk – I had no agenda except to appreciate and enjoy God’s creation while moving my body.ππ½π I’m consciously countering “overachiever” tendencies and experiencing so much peace… #LetItGo π
“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
Crunch, crunch, crunch – that’s the sound of the leaves I stepped on while walking without music from my playlist today.π΅ It was absolutely delightful!
What seemingly small sounds are speaking to you today? Pay attention…they may hold an unexpected hidden treasure! Blessings, Kayren π
P.S. Sharing photos from my weekend walk with my mom – I didn’t realize all the beauty (and duck activity! LOLπ¦) of the neighborhood creek when I lived there…funny how time can change your perspective, eh?ππ
“Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.”
Recently, I’ve been scheduling my posts a few days in advance.π€ The planner in me is learning that if I don’t post until that day (or evening), it’s ok, too.ππΌ Actually, it’s relieving a lot of ridiculously self-imposed stress…I encourage you to try it.π
Learning to give ourselves grace is a priceless gift.ππ Earlier this week, I walked in the morning and enjoyed the freshness of the day.
Today, I walked as dusk began to set in, and I was treated to a glimpse of the moon’s magnificence amidst the stunning backdrop of God’s gorgeous Autumn palette.π¨ππ½ Sharing photos that don’t come close to capturing the essence of the beauty and peace I experienced “off-schedule.”π
Here’s to our well-being in this season of Thanksgiving…ππ
“He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.”
