My precious sister, I’m setting 30 minutes aside to show up and invite the presence of the Lord to speak to us – through prayer, scripture, and whatever else He has in store for us. You are welcome – come for a refreshing!
I’m giving you some calorie-free food for thought – you’re welcome!
During a 1-hour commute last week, I was praying NOT to be anxious about everything on my plate for the upcoming workday. All of a sudden, Philippians 4:6 sprang to life as the Holy Spirit illuminated – and prayed THROUGH me – “let your requests be made known unto God.”
Stunned, I could’ve pulled off the road and just SAT WITH THAT for a while.
Cuz I know that scripture. Have it memorized. Reflect on it often.
But applying it that morning? Something in me shifted. Immediately.
I was like, “LORD, I haven’t been asking properly!” 😯 I humbled myself, repented, and asked Him to show me what to ask for. 🙏🏽
“2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” (James 4:2-3 KJV)
The day went SO smoothly – it was almost uncanny. Except I KNEW what made the difference – thanksgiving.
The giving of thanks. From a sincere heart. Even though I didn’t feel like attacking the tasks with approaching deadlines, I thanked God for being WITH ME in the press and for showing Himself strong and mighty on my behalf. 💪
I applied Matthew 19:26 to a specific project (that had me STUMPED for 2 days), and it literally FLOWED like oil…I was SO grateful! 🙌
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26 KJV)
The Message translation brought it to life for me and put a li’l pep in my step after I finished laughing at how refreshingly truthful it was:
“Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.” (Matthew 19:26 MSG)
👉 This week, I challenge you to reflect on and dig DEEP into your own giving of thanks (while you’re diggin’ deep into that menu you’ve been planning! LOL).
Then watch the light bulb come on for you like it did for me…💡
Blessings from a thankful heart, Kayren
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6 KJV)
“6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” (Philippians 4:6 AMP)
“6 Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. 7 Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” (Philippians 4:6-7 MSG)
Last week (on Veteran’s Day), I went live with my friend Yedidah Spann to celebrate and honor the life of our friend Khalilah Wilbourn – you’re sure to glean some encouragement and wisdom as we ran the gamut from caterpillars to butterflies, A to Z, and everything in between! Sharing is caring…
p.s. If you’d like to see the 2023 interview we shared with Khalilah, “Harnessing the Power of Collaboration” with dynamic authors (who wear many other hats!), check out The Convo Lab – Season 2, Episode 4 when we had a BLAST! YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Txcf3RheIFw&t=208s
I forgot that I’d picked up an acorn during my walk the other day. I woke up with the thought and image of Bugs Bunny (1 million martians – just add water) and a tree growing in my pocket!🤣
👉It’s important that we move from potential to productivity. A LOT can be accomplished in the remaining weeks of 2025; let’s make each day count. #HarvestGoals
What seed will you plant today? Get your seed in the ground!!! 🌱
Blessings, Kayren
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” (John 12:24 KJV)
“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest.” (John 12:24 AMPC)
“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone [just one grain, never more]. But if it dies, it produces much grain and yields a harvest.” (John 12:24 AMP)
“24-25 “Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.” (John 12:24-25 MSG)
Can I keep it real?💯 I just finished vacuuming and mopping the house…only to realize I wasn’t wearing my step tracker.😒 Granted, I know the cardio was good for me (with sweat to prove my exertion), but it would’ve been nice to have had those steps recorded.
Nevertheless, God is always watching our actions, and everything is being recorded.👀
He sees. He knows.
Just a reminder (and there are PLENTY in God’s Word)…
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3 AMPC)
I’ll say it again for those in the back…
“Mark well that God doesn’t miss a move you make; he’s aware of every step you take.” (Proverbs 5:21 MSG)
👉Every choice matters. Every decision counts. May we live in a way that reflects this truth.
Blessings as we press toward the mark in excellence, Kayren
p.s. THANK YOU to our VETERANS – we honor you and appreciate your sacrifice!!! This is NOT an afterthought (it’s always top of mind for me – both my husband and my father are veterans)
“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” (I Peter 3:12 KJV)

“Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”
(Philippians 4:9, KJV)
“Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.”
🤔Have you been oh-so-intently watching others do what God has called YOU to do in this season? Asking for a friend…👀
Nothing wrong with watching and imitating…Paul exhorts us in I Corinthians 11:1, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
But watching without intent to take your own obedient action is just…wrong.
Why? Because delayed obedience = disobedience.
Let’s sit with that for a minute. Or two…
I was convicted. 🤯 I repented. 🙏🏽 I’m starting now. 😇
👉 Join me LIVE on YouTube in The Convo Lab for “Let’s Talk About Spiritual Voyeurism” at 6pm ET tonight (Thursday, 9/11/25) and pursue taking the next right step according to God’s Word.
Ohmigracious…”dignities” in this scripture is all about WORSHIP!😯🔥”Speaking evil” indicates lightly esteeming and not giving proper respect due…in essence, disrespecting authority and glory of the One Who is to be magnified above all.
When we deny God His rightful due praise, honor, and glory (because of disobedience, for example), we are essentially enthroning OUR will. This encompasses our desire to be seen and our need to be affirmed/appreciated/validated.
Ouch.
Have we been walking after the flesh? May we humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand (I Peter 5:6).
Blessings as I sit with this from a repentant heart, Kayren
“9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.”
(II Peter 2:9-10, KJV)
“9 then [in light of the fact that all this is true, be sure that] the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 10 and especially [d]those who indulge in the corrupt passions of the sin nature, and despise authority.
Presumptuous and reckless, self-willed and arrogant [creatures, despising the majesty of the Lord], they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties,”
