Self-willed

Ohmigracious…”dignities” in this scripture is all about WORSHIP!😯🔥”Speaking evil” indicates lightly esteeming and not giving proper respect due…in essence, disrespecting authority and glory of the One Who is to be magnified above all.

When we deny God His rightful due praise, honor, and glory (because of disobedience, for example), we are essentially enthroning OUR will. This encompasses our desire to be seen and our need to be affirmed/appreciated/validated.

Ouch.

Have we been walking after the flesh? May we humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand (I Peter 5:6).

Blessings as I sit with this from a repentant heart, Kayren

“9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.”

(II Peter 2:9-10, KJV)

“9 then [in light of the fact that all this is true, be sure that] the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 10 and especially [d]those who indulge in the corrupt passions of the sin nature, and despise authority.

Presumptuous and reckless, self-willed and arrogant [creatures, despising the majesty of the Lord], they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties,”

(II Peter 2:9-10, AMP)

DIS-Illusioned

Awakening from stupor induced by the world’s intoxicants can feel unreal – but it’s VERY REAL…

disillusioned (verb) – to realize that a belief or an ideal is false

We often think being disillusioned is a negative thing – especially when it’s associated with feeling disappointed, discouraged, downcast, or disenchanted.

But what if we flipped it and began to realize that it’s a GOOD thing to shed the illusion of something that wasn’t even real to begin with?

We might have a different perspective indeed.

We would be DELIGHTED to be undeceived and enlightened. Selah.

May the truth of God’s Word illuminate every illusion as we choose to walk in His Light.💡

Blessings, Kayren

“26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father,
even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.”

(John 15:26-27)

“13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

(John 16:13-14)

“We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.
Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”

(I John 4:6)

Digging Around in Darkness

We’re called to abide in the light…💡😇

I wanted to grab my mousepad from my bag in another room and do some writing before bedtime. I breezed past the light switch because I knew exactly where I’d put it in the zippered section of my bag.

Then I realized how utterly ridiculous it is to grope around in the dark for something that can easily be located once illuminated.

I backed up and flipped on the light switch. Then I quickly grabbed my BLACK mousepad from my BLACK bag…saving myself time and frustration.

How much time do we spend (or waste) digging around in the dark – when we’re blessed with access to the Light of the world?

Jesus said, “I have come as a Light into the world, so that whoever believes in Me [whoever cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] may not continue to live in darkness.” (John 12:46 AMPC).

May we intentionally choose to abide in light instead of darkness. Selah.

Blessings, Kayren

“For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.”

(II Samuel 22:29)

“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.”

(Isaiah 9:2)

“He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”

(Daniel 2:22)

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

God is Greater than GPS

Check out this 4-minute “God is Greater Than GPS” podcast…my first FRESH episode in 2 years!

On this particularly rainy morning, I set out on my usual commute, only to find that the day had more in store for me than just a wet drive. This journey taught me invaluable lessons about trusting God’s guidance.

An Unexpected Report

As I checked my GPS, it warned of obstacles in the road, an accident, and standstill traffic on my regular route. Since I’d missed an exit to turn around, I chose to continue on my set path. To my surprise, the road was clear and traffic was moving steadily, and I was reminded that God’s guidance is dependable, trustworthy, and leads us in the right direction – even when technology suggests otherwise.

A Divine Detour

I was almost at my office building when I encountered a flooded underpass. Watching others turn around, I followed suit, taking an alternate route. Safety was a better choice than attempting to shave off a few minutes. This detour was a gentle nudge for me to remain flexible, adaptable, and malleable in God’s hands – even when the path seems familiar.

A Timely Lesson

While tools like GPS are helpful, never forget that we have a greater Guide Who never fails. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths.”

Come Out From Among Them

Be strong and courageous

…and be ye separate…

You wouldn’t think that choosing to forgo an after-work business function would give one pause.

But this one did for me because I clearly heard in my spirit, “You can’t go.”

Wham! Just like that…

I was like, “Seriously, God?!” But in my heart – even as I opened the invitation to scan the details – I already knew.

Would attending but not participating in some activities that aren’t part of my lifestyle indicate compromise?

Well, I wasn’t gonna get the opportunity to find out. Because sometimes, we just have to make a clear line of demarcation between our past and who we’re in the process of becoming.🦋

And then obey God’s prompting. Promptly.

Because He cares for us and knows what’s best for us.

Not throwin’ shade on anybody else or their individual choices. But we have to protect our growth.

I’m here for it.

Blessings as we all continue to mature, Kayren

“14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Enticing Words

What's all the buzz Convo Lab

Man’s wisdom may sound good at first, but is it substantive enough to sustain us for the long haul?

A lot of nonsense that’s being shoveled (I’m looking at YOU, social media 👀) is merely junk food that leaves us unfulfilled and undernourished when we need a balanced meal that is filling and nutritious.

May we choose wisely what we allow to feed us in this season – both naturally and spiritually.

After all, it’s a critical time.

Blessings, Kayren

“4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

(I Corinthians 2:4-9)

Support Embedded

Sow seed

We all like to know that somebody has our back.

May we extend support for someone else today. We never know when we’ll need the same grace extended to us.

Plant seed before you’re hungry…

Superficial and Surface

Take the plunge

It ain’t that deep…or IS it?

Dealing with stuff beneath the surface requires a different level than handling superficial stuff.

Sometimes surface just won’t cut it. ✂️

Are we willing to go deeper with God?

He stands ready to guide us…

Blessings, Kayren

“He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.”

(Daniel 2:22)

“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

Growth, Maturity, Tolerance, and Wit

What does Pink Panther have to do with Father’s Day for this eldest daughter of a Girl Dad?

When I was a child and Saturday morning cartoons were the jam (we didn’t have cable – gasp! I turned out fine…), my dad used to chuckle amusedly at the Coyote and the Roadrunner (on the ORIGINAL Looney Tunes).

I was annoyed whenever they’d cut away from Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck – because for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why there was no dialogue between the characters! Add to that the Coyote’s unfortunately risk-prone leaning to ridiculous predicaments…I never understood why he kept trying the same nonsense – to no avail.

Now that I’m older and wiser, I find myself hollerin’ with laughter at the irony, sarcasm, hubris, and double entendre baked into these wordless cartoons.

In some life situations, no words are required and one look says it all.

I finally get it. And now I find myself appreciating the beauty of a classic…#FullCircleMoment #DaddyWasRight

With honor for the mighty men of valor in my life, Kayren💞

“Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.”

(Proverbs 17:6, KJV)

“Grandchildren are the crown of aged men,

And the glory of children is their fathers [who live godly lives].”

(Proverbs 17:6, AMP)

A Nutty Portrait in Veritable Tenacity

The squirrel precariously perched on my bird feeder taught me something…

I suspect it was literally hanging on by its claws. But with a calculated neck twist while splayed out, it was eating seeds!

May we all have the gumption to hang on when we find ourselves in places it doesn’t seem we belong or are welcome.

Hang in there…<pun intended>

Blessings, Kayren
