Full Circle

Serve others
The harvest cycle takes time…so be patient in the process.

Someone I met while riding public transportation in 2009 reached out to me this week through my website – it was an unexpectedly delightful surprise. She said that she still had an autographed copy (of my first published book) and that she thought of me from time to time, even as she had moved from my local area in 2014 and was now retired.

Getting this “blast from the past” email from a sister in Christ (whom I met during a particularly challenging season of my life) truly brightened my day, reminding me that we never know the impact we’ll have on someone – just by being ourselves and allowing the light of Christ to shine through us.

God is the One Who causes a seed planted to grow – in HIS time, and in due season.

Are we being diligent to plant and water so HE can give the increase as He sees fit?

Blessings to my fellow seed planters, Kayren 🌱

“6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.”
(I Corinthians 3:6-9)

Need a Change of Scenery?

It doesn’t always require a vacation…Small adjustments can yield big results…

After mindlessly carb-grazing past the clear cake dome of devil’s food cake and plastic container of croissants, I realized that I needed to tamp down my visual triggers…and quick! 🥐

Cuz if I see it, I’m usually nibbling within 10 seconds. 👀 Call it an endearing foible…or a weakness – your choice.🙄

So I moved the cake from the easily accessible corner of the counter. It may seem insignificant, but it was like a landmine when I’d go refill my water, like, “Yes, cake IS perfectly acceptable this close after breakfast…and again this close before bedtime.” 🫣😆

Um no.🚫 I rebuked myself, made the adjustment (2 croissants and 4 buttery fingers later), and went to brush my teeth.

Drop a comment and share how you’ll change your scenery today.

It’s definitely a judgment-free zone – because people who live in glass houses can’t afford to throw stones…and people with crumbs around their lips shouldn’t be quick to criticize! 😉😏😜😂

Blessings, Kayren

Do the Law

Strike out overcompensating

We love the blessings of obedience…but do we consider the judgments for disobedience?

God doesn’t expect us to know everything about everything (thank goodness!).

However, it is important for us to maintain a teachable spirit so we can learn, grow, and be corrected in righteousness.

Because what we don’t know can hurt us.

I believe that wisdom encompasses benefitting from the experiences of others without having to bump our heads on the same obstacles.

Here for it and adjusting daily, Kayren

“25 And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.

26 And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.”

(Ezra 7:25-26)

Don’t Get It Twisted

Maturity - making better choices because I can

No time for distractions when on Kingdom assignment…

Stay on your toes when you see God moving and delivering. He does HIS job.💯

Our job is to stay mindful, aware, watchful, and on-guard – because entanglement in the wrong covenant, alliance, or agreement can become a snare to fulfilling your purpose.⚠️

We are soldiers…in the army…

Destroying idolatry requires standing firm against what God hates. The slightest indication of compromise can taint pure worship – and it will be detected by our God Who requires holiness and no traces of mixture or contamination.

Grateful for the sacrifice of those who served…and continue to serve! #MemorialDay #WeRemember

Alert & aware, Kayren

“11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:

13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:

14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:”

Travelling Light

Expert - sharing expertise

Have you ever overpacked?

Unfortunately, I’m guilty of this more often than I care to admit.

Certainly when I’m preparing for a trip, I find myself with too many PJs (who knows whether I’ll feel like long sleeves or short sleeves? I’d rather just be prepared for whatever…)

As a self-professed lip glossaholic, I should be ashamed to admit that I currently have 10 glosses (at least) in my everyday purse. (how do I know whether I’ll prefer watermelon, strawberry, or coconut…or sparkly shimmer on top of matte red…unless I have ALL the options available when the mood strikes?). Exactly! 💯#UNapologetic

But I’m no stranger to winding up with an accumulation of “stuff” over time that eventually requires attention and action of a necessity.

Since this world is not our home, it makes sense to travel light.

Blessings, Kayren

“13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.”

(Hebrews 11:13-16)

Nice, Neat Boxes

Manage your time

Reality check straight ahead…

Life gets a LOT simpler when we stop trying to define, label, and categorize ourselves and our situations.

Because things are always shifting. So even when we think we’ve figured out one part, another facet shifts.

Therefore, it behooves us to accept some things as they are instead of angsting over what we wish they were.

Most of the time, what we imagine isn’t even part of the true essence – so it’s a ridiculously unrealistic expectation (and hence, a waste of time, energy, and other resources) to even bother considering.

Let’s not waste time on fleeting vanity…

Blessings, Kayren

“8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

(Ecclesiastes 12:8, 13-14)

Characteristics of Godly Wisdom

Wisdom - Proverbs 4:9

We admire the Proverbs 31 woman. How can we put more of what she embodies into our own lives?

Let us desire to walk in godly wisdom. We start by saturating ourselves in God’s Word – the holy scriptures are FULL of wisdom that we can apply to our daily lives with awesome and proven results.

Here are some characteristics of godly wisdom we can begin (or continue!) to work on:

  1. Discretion – knowing when to speak vs. when to be silent
  2. Maturity – developing through stages (not staying static or rigid); being pliant, pliable, and yielded – able to be transformed
  3. Taking decisive action (choices reflect our heart condition)
  4. Integrity – operating according to GOD’S principles vs. allowing circumstances, natural senses, or feelings to dictate our response
  5. Obedience – non-negotiable (entails applying all of the above in the proper God-directed sequence & timing)

Blessings as we work and walk in, on, and with wisdom, Kayren

“10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”

(Proverbs 31:10, 28-31)
